KENGALI PAGAN DRUMBEAT
Pagan is the epitome of what a male Rhodesian should look and act like. He is a full bodied male with impressive bone and muscle mass, and despite all that machismo he is a gentle gentle giant!!! He is wonderful with the young pups, and always an excellent role model for what is proper canine and human social behavior. He is the kind of dog that you never have to wonder where he is as he is not more than 20 feet from you. Although I don’t think I have EVER heard him bark or growl, his imposing presence is always a comfort to us all. Pagan’s daughters, (Relic, Kaidance, Mink, Jazz, and Meg), his Grand daughters and sons (Charlie, Topper, Foxey, Mini Me, Can Can, Gracie) – have done him proud! Soon it will be his great grandpuppies and even his great great grandpuppies!!! Pagan loved his retirement life - hanging out in the shade, letting the new puppies crawl all over him, and keeping an eye on my 80+ year old mother! In February 2012, Pagan began to fade at the ripe old age of 12.5 years old. He was diagnosed with a tumor on his stomach that could not be removed. He told me when he was ready to go, my friend/vet/employer, came to the farm to help him go, he followed me to the grave site I had prepared, laid down as obedient as ever, and we let him go surrounded by the grass, trees, and wind just as it was his whole life. You could not have ASKED for a better dog. I miss him so.
