"Twist" is a WHOLE lot of dog in a compact package!!  When you first meet her, she is all muscle, bone, athleticism, and spunk - living ENERGY!!  Then she touches your hand with her nose, looks at you with those enormous brown eyes, and you feel the kindness of her heart and the depth of her soul.  Look quick though, cause then she is GONE!  What a dog!!  Twist got her name from well..... a twist of fate.  I had originally planned to place her in a potential show home.  But at 7 weeks old, when she had her final vet check, my veterinarian saw something in her eye that was not quite right.  I decided that I dare not place her until I knew what that may mean for her.  My brother, an optometrist and eye surgeon, visited a few months later and looked at her eye for me.  He said what she had was a juvenile injury and her eye was fine now.  Of course, by then she was mine!  So I kept her - a Twist of Fate!  She accepted with minimal enthusiasm the chore of running around in a circle in the conformation ring, earning all the points she needed except for that last elusive major.  ugh.... I quit torturing her.  Hunting is her passion and she is good at it!  Regularly, she terrorizes the birds, rabbits, and squirrels in the trees and tall grasses of our acreage.  A quick use of my built in 'dog whistle' and she is back in a flash all tongue and happy smile!!  Sometimes, a bit of feather or fur come with her, but we won't talk about that!!  She is a happy, happy dog, living the life a Ridgeback was born to live.  Twist makes all who meet her happy for the experience!
